For the iPhone, see the original AyeTides!
AyeTides XL presents the tides or currents* (tidal streams) for specific locations around the world. Designed for the iPad, AyeTides XL features:
+ a two-day view with interactive graphs; sunrise, sunset, moonrise, and moonset times; the current value of the tide/current; and a tide clock showing the time remaining until the next event
+ a calendar view that expands to show the day when tapped
+ station selection via a map (which is the only part of the app that requires an internet connection) or a table of stations. Select from an alphabetical list, or a specific region of the world. Selecting a station does not require the internet; all data is stored on the iPad.
+ your favorite stations and the 20 most recently opened stations are saved for later use.
Please note that we've recently been informed that some Alaskan current (tidal stream) stations are inaccurate as compared with NOAA predictions. We use NOAA harmonics to compute the currents, and NOAA has not updated the harmonics they give to the public for the current stations. We are reviewing the Alaskan current stations, and in the next update will remove any that don't match NOAA predictions. When NOAA releases their new harmonics, we will return these stations to the application. We have no idea when this will happen; NOAA has been promising new harmonics for years yet has released nothing.
Tide stations in Alaska continue to be accurate; this issue only affects current stations.
* currents are only available in North America.
