In another Glu Mobile’s success story we have the company announcing that its Deer Hunter Challenge has surpassed 2 million downloads in the first 20 days on the AppStore. Based on Atari’s popular Deer Hunter franchise, the game sees you discovering and hunting animals in a number of unique environments, including Alaska and Patagonia. Then there’s the option to customize your clothing, boots and gear, as well as a variety of animals to hunt such as axis deer, black and brown bear, blackbuck, cougars, moose, red deer, reindeer and many others. In terms of the weapons choice, you’ll be shooting with bolt rifle, single shot rifle, lever rifle, shotgun, crossbow and handgun. Some of the features are earned as you progress, whereas some others could be bought via in-app purchase.
Considering Deer Hunger Challenge is a free download, it’s safe to presume this (via in-app purchases) is the way Glu plans to monetize on this game. And to further entice the iUsers to play, the gaming publisher will organize online tournaments against competitors from all over the world.
