Localscope, the application that gathers points of interest from your social circle, just got better thanks to the Navigon MobileNavigator integration.

Cynapse, the company behind the app, co-operated with Navigon to integrate MobileNavigator GPS using their AppInteract API. As a result, users can get 3D turn-by-turn directions to a search result in Localscope with a tap.

In addition, the new version (1.1) is also slightly smarter. Based on your current location, Localscope will set the default distance units as US or Metric automatically. This works with all iOS-powered devices, not just the iPhone and iPad 3G (i.e. those with integrated cellular radio and GPS).

Commenting on the app release, Cynapse CTO, Dhiraj Gupta said: “Localscope at the core is a mashup of social & local services to enable users to discover places & POIs. While we aim to increase the choice of location search services and social networks integrated with Localscope, we realize that enabling users to do more with the results is equally important. With this new integration, users can find destinations with Localscope and be guided there using the amazing 3D Panaroma maps of Navigon.”
