Vogue Magazine has a brand new iPhone app called Vogue Stylist, which is not a simple “magazine turned iPhone app” product. Rather, it’s a special app that should help women style their wardrobe, based upon the top trends identified by Vogue experts every month.
Vogue devotees can create virtual wardrobe by taking photos of their existing clothes and accessories, and then combine them with selected-by-Vogue products. These new combinations can be saved or shared with other people via Facebook.
But the story doesn’t end there. If you find a cool product, you can search for it in stores nearby. There are also exclusive discounts and product samplings you could take advantage of, as well as special event invitations and exclusive videos.
Vogue Stylist was launched with 91 brands participating and over 600 articles of clothing and beauty products. Among the companies that are on board are Gucci, Hudson Jeans, Kate Spade, Longchamp Paris, Nine West, Valentino and Via Spiga.
And for the record, this isn’t Conde Nast’s (owner of Vogue Magazine) first mobile/social/e-commerce endeavor. Lucky Magazine’s website incorporates e-commerce and FourSquare; whereas Style.com, Lucky Magazine and Teen Vogue all have their own dedicated iPhone apps.
