We don’t usually associate TracFone with cool devices; quite the contrary, the prepaid carrier is known to sell some of the world’s worst phones which are often “good enough” for those visiting the U.S. Now they’re moving up the (phone) ladder with the introduction of LG Optimus Zip. It’s a low-to-mid end Android smartphone that packs a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard, making it ideal for heavy texters. Additionally, it also comes with a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera, 3G (EV-DO) and Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0, 800MHz processor, microSD expansion slot, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show. Yup, it’s the same phone we know as LG Enlighten or LG Optimus Slider. Why carriers keep insisting on their own phone names is beyond me… but that’s another story, which we won’t get into here…
