Cricket Wireless has officially announced the Cricket MSGM8 II. The device, which we’ve seen some time ago in the carrier’s leaked roadmap and afterwards at FCC’s website, is now officially available for $79.99.
As you may know from our previous post(s), MSGM8 II is a phone made for heavy texters. Features include a 1.3-megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard (obviously), Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition (for hands free dialing), 220×176 pixels display, web browser and access to Cricket’s Games & Apps store.
When compared to the original MSGM8, the new model comes with a new ID (not sure what that is) and better keypad (with slightly enlarged keys) including a redesigned navigation key, left and right soft keys and contoured keys throughout. There is also MyHomeScreen feature along with dedicated keys for messaging and schedules.
The Cricket MSGM8 II is available in Cricket Corporate stores and on mycricket.com, where [on the website] a $20 “web only” discount is currently being offered.
